Why we integrate early into the build

Ask anyone who has delivered a complex home and they will tell you the same thing: the expensive problems are rarely the obvious ones. They are the small misalignments, a containment route missed, a control position never agreed, a brief that changed after first-fix, that compound quietly and only surface when they are difficult and costly to put right. Almost all of them trace back to one cause: technology brought into the project too late.

Designed in, not retrofitted

When we are part of the conversation from design stage, the infrastructure that a smart home depends on, cabling, containment, power, control positions, is coordinated with the architecture and the wider mechanical and electrical services before a wall goes up. Nothing is chased in afterwards, nothing compromises a finish, and the trades around us know exactly what to expect and when.

Through earlier integration of Imperium into our supply chain our projects run more smoothly, with a noticeable reduction of issues that sometimes feel small at the time but cost time and money to resolve later.

A more thorough brief

Early involvement also makes the client briefing far richer. With time to understand how a family actually lives in and uses their home, room by room, routine by routine, the technology and infrastructure can be designed around their real needs from the outset, rather than retrofitted to assumptions made late in the day.

Fewer surprises, better results

The pay-off is a calmer project and a better home. Issues are resolved on a drawing rather than on site; programmes hold; and the finished system feels considered because it was, from the very first sketch. We start with the client's needs and work back from there, coordinating closely with architects, designers and contractors so the infrastructure is right first time.

It is a simple principle, but it is the difference between technology that fights a build and technology that quietly belongs to it. If you are planning a project, the best time to involve us is now.
